What makes the rust coloured spots?

Answer

Rust coloured spots appear on leaves when the nutrients have been sapped out of them and when there is too much humidity in a room and where water forms on the leaves it burns them. Usually adding an extra fan or two for better air circulation and testing the nutrient levels with a ph tester will correct the problem.

Question

How many lights would you recommend for getting the best results out of a room with 10 plants in a 12x12 area. The room is well ventilated and has multiple vent fans.

If hydro is not a problem for you then I would suggest using 4 1000w lights and I would use the multi spectrum bulbs to grow and bud with or two frosted halides, a clear halide and a hps.

Question

I just got an air conditioner for my room and the temperature went from 91f to 76f right when the lights were going off.  Is that going to hurt them.

Answer

As long as the plants are not budding they should be able to adjust to the temperature change. I would try to keep the room between 75-80 degrees. Severe temperature changes during the budding process will cause the plants to hermaphrodite and seed.
